Into Angels
Into Angels is an amazing spiritual journey: a love story with a difference.
With a foot in two worlds: poverty and hardship, alongside the world of the ‘glitterati’ and vulgar wealth, Marianne Quinn endeavours to free herself from the clutches of a ‘fatal attraction’ – a love affair that threatens to destroy her. She has succeeded in distancing herself, on a few occasions; finding alternative employment. But these jobs petered out in takeovers, or business failure and she is back where she started.
Penniless, she is forced to leave home and it is the charity of friends and a little help from the ‘angelic realms’ that saves her from a life on the streets!

Angels lead to a very different story!
When one publishes a book, one never knows where it will lead. The publication of Into Angels and my experience working in film, led to a request to collaborate on a memoir and I am happy to be associated with a real life story, set in the world of movie-making.

Dreaming about a life of adventure, but tormented by beatings and ridicule throughout his schooldays, Gerry Johnston found escape in the joy of swimming in the sea near his home in Dublin, fishing, football and making bows and arrows from what he and his pals could find; re-enacting the exploits of Robin Hood and the heroes of the Westerns they saw in the cinema. Lacking academic qualifications, he found work in oil refineries, power stations and engineering workshops, married and bought his first house. Then, a chance meeting between his father and an old friend led him to an interview that would change his life forever.
Lights, Camera, Dynamite, details the rollercoaster career of Ireland’s first film special effects technician. The story covers forty years in the movie industry, from his childhood fascination with adventure and the strong influence of an uncle who was a naval commander, to working with the four ‘James Bonds’ and a host of famous directors, creating the spectacular effects that have spellbound cinema audiences around the world.
